About Floral Notes

It’s a fact - I get seduced when I go to the flower market. One never knows what will take your breath away. I love finding something unusual that works with your vision - you know it's coming home with me for you!

I pay incredible attention to detail. I’m always thinking of something a bit different we can do with your flowers whether it’s a unique spin on a boutonniere or an over the top entrance design.

An avid gardener, there’s usually something in my yard that I select to put in your bouquet, boutonniere or centerpieces.

I’m there for you to help you through the process, telling you where your dollars make the biggest impact. I think of flowers as “Champagne”, “Wine” and “Water” tiers. I can help you make the most of your budget by thinking of where to use each tier and how to re-purpose your flowers from the ceremony to the reception and even to brunch the next morning.

Range of venues - I have done weddings on the top of Killington, the coast of Maine, at Ocean House, Newport Beach House and Glen Manor in Rhode Island, Wequasett on Cape Cod as well as venues such as deCordova Museum, Oceanview of Nahant, Gibbet Hill, Tupper Manor, Willowdale Estate, Stephens Estate at Osgood Farm, Harrington Farm, The Mansion on Turner Hill, backyard events, and Boston Hotels to name just a few locations.  I welcome the opportunity to create flowers for you!

Your time is valuable! After an initial phone call, we can decide if a meeting is needed. Future decisions can be made via email and photos. I can connect you with vendors I’ve worked with if you should need anyone from linens, wedding planners, hair and makeup, DJ’s, etc.

My credentials are listed in the footer so I won’t repeat them here. How does it relate to you? My flower show judging and competition experience brings a discerning eye to my creations. The European Masters Certification (EMC) program expanded my critical thinking and helped me to understand design more in depth and from a European viewpoint. Successfully passing the rigorous Professional Florist Design Evaluation with scores high enough to be inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers (AIFD) opened a world of education and expanded my flower family. As a Chapel Designer I’m part of a sharing community of supportive designers. These connections have helped me use more environmentally friendly techniques in my floral designs.

As a Master level National Garden Club Flower Show Judge, I am very particular about the final product so I personally deliver and set-up your event. I’m continually keeping up-to-date with new techniques, have earned my European Masters certification and have been inducted into the American Institute of Floral Designers.

I’ve won numerous awards for my designs in flower shows - for both design and interpretation. I’ve been published in various publications including the cover of the NGC Vision of Beauty Calendar.

One of the highlights of my floral life is creating flowers for His Holiness, the Dali Lama in 2014. These were over 6’ in diameter and were 8’ up on a pedestal I created.

Besides creating flowers for my two married sons, other highlights include being the person to welcome high schoolers to the world of flowers when they order prom flowers, assisting world class designers, receiving a Bronze Award in the Fusion Flower International Designer of the Year Competition, giving design presentations and workshops to garden clubs on a local and national level and of course, achieving EMC and AIFD status. All of these things make me the designer I am today - ready to create beautiful designs for you!
